| Excellent opportunity for an Assistant Director Nursing - OB/Paediatrics to work with an excellent hospital located in the Middle East, Bahrain. My client are a new organisation, opened in 2011. Bahrain is one of the most desirable places to work in the Gulf. It is a fantastic tourist centre and also home to the American Navy's Fifth Fleet. The post of Assistant Director Nursing - OB/Paediatrics has a pivotal role in co-ordination and management of activities and resources within the OB/Paediatric Division and as Hospital Shift Supervisor. The post holder will work as a key member of the hospital middle management team. The post has the following key elements: • Improving the quality and patient experience of treatment and care. • Strengthening the nursing and midwifery contribution to service planning and delivery. • Working with colleagues within the organisation to improve models of treatment and care for specific patient groups. • Resource management including staffing and staff development. • Deputising for the Director of Nursing Services across a range of duties. . • Participating in the senior management on-call rota. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • At all times provide a caring service and to treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful manner. • Carry out their duties and responsibilities in a manner which assures the safety of patients, general public, other staff and self. • Adhere to hospital policies as well as Kingdom of Bahrain legal and security policies throughout the course of employment. • Maintain high standards of personal accountability. • Lead by example in practicing the highest standards of conduct in accordance with the Professional Nursing Code of Conduct. As well as the above key elements and responsibilities you will also be responsible for professional leadership, workforce planning and development, health improvement, policy and strategy, standards, quality and governance, management, staff development, teaching, health and safety, professional development and confidentiality. EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Assistant Director Nursing - OB/Paediatrics will have a Bachelors of Science in Nursing or equivalent qualification from an accredited University/College. Valid Nursing license with council of origin. Training and Development must be displayed with certificates available upon request.
