COMPANY:
Our client is an independent charity in its own right, affiliated to a major animal charity but responsible for its own fundraising, administration and operations. Their core activities include: rescuing and re-homing stray and unwanted cats, dogs and other small animals; financial assistance for veterinary bills to those who cannot afford them; running the C4 scheme for free neutering of cats; and supporting Inspectors in the Branch area.

They began an exciting new era on 1st January 2008 when north-east London became part of the branch area, creating the much enlarged area comprising central and north-east London and with significantly increased financial resources.

Our client operates four charity shops, is in the process of taking on a fifth, and plans to open more shops. Following receipt of a substantial legacy during 2009, they hope shortly to open their own facility where animals awaiting fostering can be kept and cared for by their staff.

ROLE:
The main responsibilities of Operations Manager / Fundraising Manager are to take charge of the charity’s operations and to oversee the management of the charity’s paid staff and volunteers. for this area. You will be required to promote the charity and increase its income through business development and fundraising, be the main contact for the charity, and take responsibility for organizing non-animal -welfare activities and monitoring health and welfare compliance.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
a) An accomplished track record of business growth and development in a managerial role.
b) Experience of fundraising.
c) Ability to manage and motivate a team
d) Ability to oversee the retail operations of the charity.
e) Proven achievements in the other key requirements of the job.
