| Payroll Manager ,based in Edinburgh The Company: Diageo is the world's leading premium drinks business with an outstanding collection of beverage alcohol brands that includes many of the world's best-loved premium drinks such as Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Baileys, J&B, Captain Morgan, José Cuervo and Tanqueray. Their Edinburgh based Financial Services team are responsible for the service delivery of UK and ROI Pensions administration and Payroll and the administration of Diageo’s Company Register and global shareplans. Having recently migrated ROI payroll services from Dublin to Edinburgh, they are now looking to appoint a Payroll Manager to manage the ROI payroll function and team while delivering the highest standards of monthly, fortnightly and weekly payrolls. The Role: As a key member of the Payroll Management Team, you will lead and develop the team and take responsibility for day-to-day operational decisions and compliance matters. You will contribute to the direction of Payroll and will lead or support a number of projects. Your remit will be complex - delivering a Payroll service across 150 locations to 7000+ employees and 38,000 pensioners, dealing with multiple Diageo entities and cost centres and working with all Expatriates and Inpatriates globally. This will include ensuring high quality administration, meeting standards of audit control, security, policy compliance, and statutory compliance. As a manager, you will lead a new team and will ensure that all people processes are embedded and development opportunities are realised for team members. The department works within an uncompromising weekly and monthly time frame, providing a consistently reliable, accurate and timely service within a changing environment. You will need to work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and colleagues: from HMRC through to our Finance team in Budapest and European HR Shares Service centre. The Candidate: a) You will have extensive Payroll experience in the provision of a multi-site, computerised payroll service ideally with a comprehensive understanding of UK and Republic Of Ireland legislation affecting payroll and statutory reporting. b) From this experience you will have developed excellent financial, numerical and planning skills, with the confidence and knowledge to contribute ideas on system developments or improved ways of working. Equally the resilience and drive to deliver changes or projects through to successful implementation is key. c) You must have a proven track record of managing and developing a highly motivated and effective team. This role requires someone with the ability to persuade, influence and build credibility with all levels and functions so excellent communication and relationship building skills are essential. d) A Payroll Management qualification is preferred but not essential.
