Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Media and Communications Officer to join their Communications and Policy Department. This role, based in London, sits within the external relations section of the Communications and Policy Department. The Department has a staff of 20 and is responsible for communicating effectively with members, staff and external audiences. Using your experience of identifying and maximising communications opportunities, you will help promote the organisation, issues and projects to a range of stakeholders. You will work closely alongside colleagues across the organisation to promote their products and services to external audiences. You will be part of a team that responds to media enquiries; advises staff and members on how to deal effectively with the media during high profile cases; and develops innovative opportunities for proactive media work. You must be able to see the bigger picture, spot an opportunity and make the most of it. Highly organised with an approachable, positive and enthusiastic manner you must have a flair for building and maintaining good relationships with staff, journalists and other stakeholders. You must have the ability to develop an understanding of MPS, medicolegal and healthcare issues.
