Our client, who are a fast growing financial services organisation are currently in search of a Senior Developer to join their fast growing team. The role will be to deliver all software and associated documentation within the agreed timescales and quality standards using appropriate skills and processes, as defined in the departmental standards.

Key Responsibilities;
• Take ownership of any aspect of the product implementation that may be inaccurate, incomplete, ambiguous or not in accordance with good development practice.
• Bring any identified usability or functionality issues to the attention of the Development Team Leader
• Notify the Development Team Leader of any factors that affect their performance in the production of code.
• Design and implement code to meet the development standards.
• Participate in design and implementation reviews.
• Test any implementation to ensure it meets its intended purpose, and is fit for release for formal testing.
• Guide Developers during feature implementation to ensure procedures are being followed, and that the implementation meets the required standards.
• Maintain appropriate level of skills and knowledge
• Produce analysis & design documentation as and when required.
• Initiate design and code reviews.
• Demonstrate advanced software design and coding skills.
• Keep personal computers in a sensible configuration commensurate with development requirements.
• Record all ‘issues’ found during the production of code that will remain outstanding in a formal build release.
• Conduct investigations into reported problems.
• Be familiar with all changes to the codebase made during a project lifecycle, and be able to suggest solutions to any issues raised even if not involved directly with the implementation.
• Initiate improvements to development procedures and tools.
• Ensure that work in progress is regularly backed up according to defined standards.
• Provide technical support to sales and front-line support staff when requested and customers as appropriate.

Key Deliverables;
• Design & deliver quality code in accordance with defined standards.
• Ensure any code produced by the Development Team has been through a suitable design phase, and that the design has been reviewed and agreed.
• Ensure all code produced by the Development Team has been reviewed, tested, and meets its intended purpose.
• Deputise for the Development Team Leader when appropriate.
