| Position Purpose: Set the strategic direction for the Procurement function - leading, developing and motivating the team who deliver strategic sourcing and purchasing across a diverse spend portfolio of direct and indirect categories in a business that continues to grow in size and complexity. Procurement is a rapidly developing function within this leading company and has influence over the majority of discretionary spend in the business. Focus is also on the development of best practice sourcing policies and procedures allied with commercial expertise and relationship management, with the aim to deliver optimal value to the business. Responsibilities / Duties: *Develop the Procurement function to meet the needs of a fast growing business *Drive Procurement to the front end of commercial negotiations *Lead in key supplier negotiations to deliver best value solutions across the business *In partnership with the Group Finance team, develop a robust Group cost management function to understand the levers of business performance and facilitate effective decision making *Development of procurement systems *Identify and deliver process efficiencies across all areas of Procurement and Purchasing *Provide strong leadership and direction to the Procurement and Purchasing team *Benchmark internal performance against the competitive set and industry leaders *Identify relevant KPIs by which to track Procurement activity and demonstrate the value delivered *Prepare monthly/quarterly management reports, and deliver against any other ad hoc reporting requests Working Relationships: *Report into the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis *Management responsibility for a team of three *Significant interaction with senior business stakeholders and Group Executive *Leverage finance relationships to champion procurement throughout the group Person Specification Experience & Qualifications: *Qualified CIPS or equivalent, experienced in working in a dynamic high-paced commercial environment *Procurement systems development and implementation experience *A keen interest in sport and gaming; sector experience would be desirable Skills and Attributes: *Present a positive and professional face at all times enhancing the credibility of the business at every given opportunity *Effective influencer at all levels but especially with senior management *An innovator and relationship builder *Ability to effectively lead and influence in a dynamic organisation *Results driven *Enthusiastic and with a high level of self-motivation to overcome obstacles *Ability to communicate with financial/non-financial senior management in a self-confident and professional manner *Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment *Excellent written and presentational skills To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK Matchtech Group Plc is acting as an Employment Agenc |
