| A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a Medical Devices organisation for a Senior Quality Control Technician in Crawley. The role will initially be contract based for 6 months however if this is successful will turn permanent. This is an interesting and varied role for a hands on inspector familiar with 3 dimensional inspection equipment. Strong analytical skills will be required for defect resolution and investigational work. Candidates should be great communicators as they will be liaising with suppliers. The responsibilities of the role will include: -Perform incoming and in-process inspection of components and sub systems.
-To liaise with vendors on product Quality matters working with them to implement solutions
-Maintain discrepancy reporting system.
-Participate in the evaluation of Engineering Designs and first of Samples.
-To assist in the qualification of new / modified processes.
-To assist in the development of new system test facilities for use in house and at suppliers.
-To take part in inspection planning activities. There will also be added responsibilities when necessary and these will include:
-Perform calibration tasks.
-Perform final product testing.
-Support QA Engineers in projects
-General Q.A. duties.
-To carry out process audits of vendors and take part in any required vendor training.
-To perform in-process audits within the manufacturing operation
-To undertake supplier audits
-To undertake quality system audits Suitable candidates will possess the following skills and experience: Either
-NVQ Level 3 or greater
-HND equivalent
-Apprenticeship completed in mechanical engineering discipline -Experience working in a manufacturing environment of complex mechanical assemblies
-Good computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office, MRP and ERP systems and mechanical inspection software, e.g. Delcam
-Familiar with GMP and ISO9001, ISO13485 and/or FDA CFR 820 in a manufacturing environment. The rate for this role is dependant on the level of experience but is approximately GBP12 - GBP14 per hour.
