Working on New Products / New Product Development, the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be driving through projects and products from initial meetings with customers through to validation and manufacture of the final design. As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for the department, you will be the main point for contact for guidance / knowledge surrounding the products as well as project management of the products through the development process . The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design of Electro-Pneumatic products for manufacture, production of CAD Models and of 2D part and assembly drawings.
You, as Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design of Electro-Pneumatic products for manufacture and also establish best practice design techniques including:
- Tolerance Studies
- Design Calculations
- Modelling
- FMEA's. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer should have a grasp of fundamental engineering principles and fluid dynamics, coupled with 3D modelling experience. In addition, the suitable candidate should also have kinetic design and development experience of mid to low volume, high specification components and also have experience of materials and manufacturing processes, coupled with prior involvement with supplier selection and development . Prior experience of working with pneumatics, DFM techniques, design of production test equipment and fixtures, as well as 3D Design using AutoDesk Inventor would be a distinct advantage for this Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role.
