In this role you will lead the electrical development of integrated demonstration designs by trading and developing appropriate technologies suitable for integration into a functional product. You will understand the electro-mechanical aspects of the design and investigate and improve the manufacturing processes as well as gain an understanding of the specialised tools and equipment used, and propose improvements. You will provide engineering expertise as electrical / electronic lead in developing functional products from concept designs, as well as lead the electrical preparation for functional testing. Prepare written reports and provide oral presentations on the analysis of data from these tests. In addition you will interact with the Integrated Demonstrator Product Realisation Team (PRT) Lead to ensure negotiated requirements are clear, acceptable and the interfaces are identified and managed. You will also assist with the development and documentation of the design qualification methodology and lead electrical / electronic collaboration with other departments on integrated demonstrator development. You will adopt a visible commitment to safety improvement programmes and follow-up to accidents and injuries and contribute to and maintain a culture of zero accidents or incidents relating to occupational and personal safety, security, health issues, and environmental matters. You will also be responsible for communicating the importance of meeting customer, statutory, regulatory and internal requirements, as well as identify personal training required to support PRT objectives. You will provide a coaching role to new electrical / electronic engineers within the team to ensure sustained development and actively follow the company product realisation process. Furthermore, you will ensure safe, secure and clean operations and adopt the right culture, and encourage continuous improvement. Successful applicants will require a degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent through demonstrable experience. Knowledge of the following is required: electrical and electronic systems; electro-mechanical devices; the consequences of incorrect software module interfaces; lifecycle concepts and processes relating to high integrity/dependable electro-mechanical control systems; configuration control and data management; systems engineering best practice and of ISO 15288; current security, quality, environmental, safety and health legislation, practices and procedures.
