SOFTWARE ENGINEER DIESEL FUEL PUMPS GILLINGHAM, KENT CONTRACT OR PERMANENTWe are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to be involved in the development of real time software, to execute within the vehicle Electronic Control System, controlling diesel fuel injection equipment and other integrated engine and vehicle electronic systems. As Software Engineer you will be involved in the generation of embedded C code to implement control algorithms, the integration of auto-coded C code into a single application and the production of build support tools in support languages such as Perl, Python. You will also be responsible for debugging embedded software on target using an In-circuit emulator, taking part in Integration Testing on Bench, Rig and Engine, Configuration management and Software build management. To succeed as Software Engineer you must be qualified to degree level and have experience in an embedded application field. Opportunities exist both for those with a few years experience as well as graduate trainees. You must be able to demonstrate strong embedded real time software skills, using C, configuration management experience using Clearcase, experience of real time debugging using in-circuit emulation tools and have strong process discipline. Ideally you will have experience in the automotive field, awareness of the SPICE assessment model and experience of QAC, Clearquest, GNU toolchain although these are not essential.
