One of Yorkshire's most successful Engineering Houses are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis, to join the Engineering Division. For this role, the Mechanical Design Engineer must have an understanding of the design lifecycle (Concept (ideal) - Modelling - Design - Assembly) and have experience of 3D Design & Modelling (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor). Initially working on updates / modifications /continuously improvements to the machines, the Design Engineer (when at a competent level with the products) will move onto designing new machines on a project by project basis.
Prior experience of machine design / special purpose machinery / automated equipment would be advantageous for this role, though this is not mandatory, as long as the Design Engineer has an established background in mechanical design (Fabrication / Moving Parts) and the aptitude / drive to pick up new design areas and continuously improve their mechanical knowledge of the machines. An articulate and effective communicator, the Mechanical Design Engineer should be a confident, proactive individual who can work in a customer facing and demanding environment. For the successful Mechanical Design Engineer, a salary up to GBP45,000 is on offer (dependant upon experience).
