Design Engineer Job in South America (UK)

Our client is currently engaging in a vigorous programme of capital works to improve the infrastructure and lifestyle in the area. They require a Chartered Civil Engineer with a wide experience of design involving different forms of construction to take charge of the design stages of the programme.

Reporting to the Director of Public Works you will supervise a small design office of which you will be the core member but you will be working also with clients at project definition stage and will be responsible for all aspects of the subsequent design in-house or with the assistance of Architectural and Engineering Consultants, of some GBP5m of capital works per annum. Covering new construction and major maintenance/remodelling works to roads, marine structures and buildings and working in civil, structural, mechanical and electrical disciplines you will also be responsible for material specification, the preparation of contract documentation.

This contract is ideally for a fixed term of 2 years initially and the client would like the successful applicant to start as soon as possible (negotiable). Contracts may be extendable on mutual agreement at the end of this period.
