Contract: Interim 6 months My client is a well known Housing Association in Scotland which requires a tried and tested Management Accountant to provide immediate assistance in an understaffed area of the finance department for an initial 6 months. The Management Accountant will have previous experience working within the finance department of a large Housing Association and will have preferably held a Management Accountant position within a public sector organisation during their last occupation. The Management Accountant will be responsible for providing extensive support to on-going projects as the organisation looks to consolidate its finances over the next 6 months. As the Management Accountant for the Housing Association your primary duties and responsibilities will include: · Monthly closure of accounts.
. Producing cost and variance analyses (year to date) for Repairs team Budget Holders
. Assisting with streamline improvement projects within the repairs and maintenance team
· Review of budgetary control procedures and improvements
· Budget Monitoring, forecasting and variance reporting.
· Calculation of monthly accruals and prepayments.
· Reconciliation of key control accounts.
· Preparation of monthly management accounts pack including profit & loss, balance sheet, cash-flow statement and departmental accounts
Essential Skills: Management Accountant and Housing Association experience Desirable Skills: Part CIMA or CCAB quivalent accountancy qualification, Year end experience Candidates will only be considered having held a position as a Management Accountant and have operated previously within a Housing Association. Rate is negotiable and will be determined based on the quality and experience of the successful applicant.
